Have you received e-mails advising that a company has tried to purchase domain names under your trademark and they are helping you to protect your investment? These unsolicited e-mails have been circulating for years now in one form or another, and are designed to scam you into purchasing other variations of your domain names, sometimes at considerably higher costs than would be normal to pay for a domain name.

Some of these e-mails look very legitimate, but in the majority of cases they are simply scams.

You can find out more here on the ACCC site. If you are unsure if your e-mail is legitimate, contact your domain registrar or the company who manages your website for advice.
